Yeah, I’ve been slacking.

It’s really been nagging me that I haven’t posted anything since April. Call me lazy, really busy, or both. There’s some truth in all of those combinations.

Lots of schoolwork going on among other projects. On a positive note though, my interest in photography has skyrocketed. I’m putting my Nikon J1 through its paces, and I think I’ve really started to be able to squeeze much nicer images out of it. I hope that my skills have improved outside of being able to use the camera more efficiently as well.

Back in September, I deactivated my Facebook account. At first, I thought I would only do it for a few weeks, but here it is December and it’s still gone. Honestly, I haven’t missed it. It felt really great to eliminate that source of noise in my daily communications.

However, now I face a dilemma. I’d like to do a little more with my photography as my portfolio begins to grow, and unfortunately Facebook is one of the key places for exposure. I know from that standpoint that reactivating my account will be a must, especially if I want to create a separate page just for my photography stuff. I’ve still kept my Instagram account (yeah, I know FB owns them…), but found out that to create a business profile, an active account on Facebook with a page for the ‘business’ was a requirement. Ugh. As of right now and the near future, I don’t actually plan to do any commercialization of my photography, but it would be nice to have that separate from my other random personal stuff on social media. I always have this page to post photo stuff on–yes I will actually start posting some of my photography here.

Speaking of this page, I’m really thinking it’s time do something with the banner art on the home page. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for sticking around. I’m trying to make posting here part of my normal routine now.
